Samsung plans to merge the operating system (OS) Bada with Tizen, an open standards-based operating system that is intended for various devices.
Samsung launches Bada OS in 2010, but its development is still arguably less amazing. Samsung's far more successful with Android for its smartphone range.
Tizen now have gained the support of many parties. Including LiMo and MeeGo, Linux-based mobile operating system. LiMo also a platform that supported the Samsung, while MeeGo supported by Intel.
With this merger supporters hope developers will also increase. Starting from the developer for up to MeeGo and Bada Tizen own.
Tae-Jin Kang, Senior Vice President of Samsung said Tizen likely to appear in one or two in 2012 this Samsung product. Still Tizen not projected as their main platform.
Samsung's plan was welcomed by analysts IDC Francisco Jeronimo. "With leadership from vendors such as Samsung, I think this operating system has a chance. Moreover, the current Android vendors are looking for alternatives so as not to depend on Google," he told Reuters.
