The concept of "hybrid" or merger between laptops and tablets believed to be a trend going forward. At
least two giant technology known as computer manufacturers namely Sony
and Lenovo started to lift the concept of a hybrid in the Consumer
Electronics Show (CES) 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
"We
will make the device more hybrid in the future. Hybrid is a new
category and still have great potential opportunities," said Michael
Tettler, Lenovo spokesman Kompas.com when met with a number of
journalists from Asia at the Lenovo booth Aquaknox, The Venetian, Las Vegas, Wednesday (01/11/2012).
Lenovo introduced its first hybrid products through the latest laptop models Ideapad called Yoga. At first glance generally the same shape with a laptop with 13.3-inch display with a slim and lightweight form.
However,
the screen can be bent 360 degrees and can serve as a tablet because it
uses a touch screen keyboard can even be a holder when placed on the
table.
According Tettler, technically Ideapad ultrabook Yoga has been qualified by Intel. Using second-generation Intel Core processors, the performance ratio of the battery resistance is optimal for everyday use.
However, functionally ultrabook already exceed standards. Ideapad
Yoga will use Windows 8 so that its release schedule will follow the
release schedule of Microsoft's latest operating system.
While Sony introduced the hybrid concept is slightly different. Both
use the touch screen, but to enable the tablet screen is simply shifted
to the bottom so that it covers all parts of the keyboard.
Own operating system, Sony does not give more detailed information. "We
have a new concept so we can not say spesisikasinya," said Kevin
Sather, senior product manager Vaio, Sony when Sony introduced it at
the booth.
He said, Sony believes hybrid products will be the trend in the future because many people started to like tablets. However, many tablet users are not completely satisfied with the touch screen only.
To do work in a tablet device, not a few who buy an additional keyboard. Hybrid concept is not really new. Tablet PCs for example, has existed since a few years ago.
However, the ratio of price to performance is not as optimal as it is now so not too popular. Today might be a good fit rejoin the tablet with a standard laptop.
