Microsoft is planning to launch Windows 8 in 2012, but not with certainty the date of release. Taiwanese computer vendor was trying to steal the start, by announcing the latest Windows-based.
Lenovo and Acer, two of the vendors who will release a tablet PC based on Windows 8 in the first tier. Not only that, the tablet according to sources at the company's component suppliers, released third quarter of 2012 was accompanied with an Intel platform Clover Trail.
Most likely these processor platforms Clover Trail Medfield will use code names. By Intel, the processor is deliberately designed for Android-based smart phones and tablets, which will ship in the middle of the first quarter of 2012.
Some analysts caution, Medfield will be able to compete with ARM based processors in terms of performance and power savings, so the PC players put more expectations on Intel platforms Clover Trail. So that was reported by DigiTimes on Monday (01/02/2012).
The sources believe the tablet PC Windows-Intel (Wintel) will have a strong potential in the enterprise market where the user still has a dependency on Microsoft's applications. It's for keeping a distance with the ruler of the tablet market, namely the iPad.
As is known, iPad shipments accounted for 60 percent of the tablet PC market in 2011, Apple is expected to maintain a share of around 60 percent in 2012.
