Spotify Feature Test Can Always Skip Ads

Streaming music service Spotify plans to launch a feature that can pass ads and there is no limit to the number of "skip" for customers who are free. The new feature is called Active Media which is reportedly being tested in Australia.

Reporting from Phone Arena, this feature allows customers to use the free Spotify service and skip audio and video ads to enjoy music again. Currently, Spotify's free customers cannot do this.

Users will have the ability to pass advertisements indefinitely, and advertisers do not need to pay Spotify for ads that users pass.

Spotify, which is now a public company, has not made a profit since the launch of its application on October 7, 2008.

Head of Spotify's global partner solution, Danielle Lee, said that the "can always skip advertising" feature for free customers will help companies get useful intelligence.

By tracking which ads are skipped, Spotify will be able to bring up profiles that specify members' preferences. This will allow Spotify to adjust ads, and offer advertisers the opportunity for more focused campaigns.

"Our hypothesis is that if we can use this to encourage the intelligence of our streaming services, provide a more personalized experience, and bring a more attractive audience to our advertisers, the results will be good for our brand," Danielle Lee said, as quoted by Phone Arena. .

"Just as we made a personalized experience in Discover Weekly ... we want to inject the concept into the advertising experience," he added.

Spotify plans to launch Active Media globally, but the launch time is unknown.

Spotify is reported to have around 184 million users globally. Of that amount, 101 million use Spotify for free with advertisements, although the ad skp feature is only limited when compared to the premium version of paid services. who really plays songs without ads.

In the United States, Apple Music now has more paid customers than Spotify, although Spotify still leads globally.
