Have you just bought a new smartphone or tablet? You might want to use it immediately. However, before that you must configure it first.
This time Okezone will provide several step-by-step guides on how to set up your new smartphone, as reported by the Android Pit page, Tuesday (01/07/2019).
1. Select language
After you have turned on the phone, you will be faced with an opening screen where you will be asked to choose a language. Select the language you want from the list and tap the arrow to continue.
2. Insert the SIM card and enter your PIN
Next, you will be asked to insert a SIM card. You can actually skip this, but assuming you really want to use this device as a telecommunications device, this is an important step.
3. Select a Wi-Fi network
If you are within wireless network coverage, you can now connect with Wi-FI. Just select your network from the list and enter a password if needed. Then tap "Connect". We recommend connecting to Wi-Fi at this stage so you can download updates and new applications as soon as possible.
4. Settings and login to Google account
The next step is to set up or log in to your account to use your smartphone with Google applications and services, such as Gmail or Play Store.
If you already have a Google account, you can enter that detail. Then you will be asked to accept the Google Terms of Service and Privacy policy. Read (if you want) by tapping the highlighted phrase then press "Accept".
If you don't have a Google account, but want to create one, just follow the steps to choose a username and create a password. You do not need to have a Google account to use the phone, but you will need it to use all of its functions, including installing applications from the Play Store. To get the best from your new Android phone, you really need to have a Google account.
5. Download the application from Google Play
The smartphone's initial settings are now complete. Now you can download several applications that you want on Google Play or Play Store. Play Store must have been installed on your mobile and try to find some applications that you need.
6. Install software and Android updates
When your Android is turned on for the first time, it might not run the latest version of the software available for your specific model. For example, your mobile can come out with Android Nougat from the factory, even if the model has an update ready for Android Oreo, you have to download it after setting. To check whether an update is available, just enter your phone settings.
7. Personalize your mobile
If you don't like the background image that accompanies your device, each smartphone offers a different background choice that you can choose from. The way to do this changes depending on the manufacturer, it can be via Display or Wallpaper in the settings menu.
