Nokia Develop Mobile Applications for Use in Cars

Nokia announced the latest technology, the Nokia Car Mode, a single application that is optimized for use Nokia smartphones in the car.

To avoid the distraction of motorists, the Nokia Car Mode has a page interface that will facilitate access to and use of the features of Nokia Drive (navigation directions on your Nokia Maps with voice assistance), the latest news about traffic, advertisers music and voice calls at the time of driving.

 
Nokia Car Mode, the QT bases, can be downloaded via the Nokia Ovi Store in Q4 2011 for Nokia smartphones with Symbian operating system Belle, Nokia 600, Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and of course Nokia N9.

Nokia Car Mode is the first commercial solution that supports service MirrorLink, formerly known as Terminal Mode. MirrorLink is a smartphone platform that connects with the car, backed by more than 20 leading global brands from various industries who joined in the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC).

With the MirrorLink, smartphones can connect easily to the car visual systems, control systems and audio. So that consumers can control their smartphone through a car dashboard, as if the phone and applications integrated in the car.

"The movement of MirrorLink and Nokia Car Mode allows motorists to access their favorite services on smartphones," said Floris van de Klarshorst, Automotive Service Director of Nokia's Location & Commerce.

He added, with the presence MirrorLink users can have access to safe and comfortable on the map, music and phone calls and when they are in a car, even when driving. In the future, said Floris, MirrorLink will bring up many other special features.
