Sony Computer Tablet Marketed in September

Sony's first tablet computer products will be sold in the Japanese market on September 17, 2011 as an effort to compete with Apple product, iPad.
 
Japanese electronics giant was quoted as saying by AFP, said, Sony Tablet will be supported Google's Android software, which allows users to download content such as books, movies, and games.

Tablet Sony S-series 9.4-inch touch screen (23.8 cm) is estimated to be sold at a price of 45,000 yen or 580 U.S. dollars for the data capacity of 16 GB version and 53,000 yen for the 32 GB version.

This product will be available in the United States and European markets in late September with a forecast price of 499 dollars and 479 Euro for 16 GB version.

Since Apple iPad released in April 2010, the competitors vying to get products to the tablet. Sony includes manufacturers of the most delayed release tablet product.

Sony Tablets have access to the Sony online content such as movies, music, digital books, PlayStation games and other entertainment.

Sony has been focusing push content such as games and music via hardware platforms including game consoles, smart phones, and tablet computers.

Sony will also release tablets P series that has two screens with folding design, combining two 5.5-inch screen. Tablet P series will be released in Japan in October and November 2011. This series will be released in Europe in November, and the end of 2011 in the United States.

"Sony wants to be number one in the growth of Android-based tablet market in Japan in fiscal 2012 (ending March 2013)," said corporate vice president of Sony Marketing Inc., Akihiro Matsubara told Japanese news agency, Kyodo.
