Sony Launches 3D Virtual Display Device

Sony on Wednesday (31/08/2011) launched its latest product, namely a virtual three-dimensional display device mounted on the head, which allows users to experience a movie at the cinema.


"3D Personal Viever (HMZ-T1)" is a protective gadget that weighs only 420 grams, which wraps around the head and allows users to enjoy high-definition three-dimensional image, using two panels are mounted in front of both eyes.

The device is tethered to a processor unit, offers crystal clear sound through the earphones, and provide "feeling really being there", "Sony said in a statement quoted by ChannelNewsAsia on Wednesday.

Electronics giant, the maker of Bravia flat-screen TVs and PlayStation games, have tried to combine the 3D functions in a variety of products.

Sony's planned release this device in Japan on 11 November, with a forecast price of 60,000 yen or 783 U.S. dollars
