Open Touch, More Complex Communication Solutions

Today, Thursday (29/09/2011), Alcatel-Lucent introduced a new communications solution called Open Touch. Stanislas Corporeau, Product Marketing Director of Enterprise Application Alcatel Lucent, said, "The advantages of Open Touch is the Multiparty, multidevice, and multimedia."
Corporeau said that the Multiparty, Open Touch can support the activities of an enterprise that is now more complex and not limited geographical and time. In this way, the decision making process in a large enterprise with many branches can be made more easily.
"While the multidevice, unlimited users can only use the particular device. It could use a PC, laptop, smartphone or other. We can contact them with any device regardless of where the person is wearing and what devices," said Corporeau.
He added, according to Gartner research, in 2015, 90 percent of Internet connection will be dominated by video access. With Open Touch users can do video calling as well as access to instant messaging and application sharing.
Given a real convenience Open Touch, Corporeau pointed out, users can easily increase or decrease the video conference participants is in progress. On the device icon will also appear so that users know exactly with whom you're communicating, so it would be a wrong number.

"Users can also easily move from one device to another. For example, we're walking, and people to contact us via BlackBerry. When we've arrived at the office or home, we want to make contact via a PC, we just move it. There is no communication is interrupted during the move, "explained Corporeau.

Open the Touch is designed with a convergent communications architecture so that it only takes only one server in communication. The series utilizes SIP Server as the engine and "conversations layer" as the brain in communication. In this way, an enterprise will save the cost for communication.
Open Touch intended for medium and large enterprise-class. The solution will be launched starting 7 November. There are a variety of service packages are offered that can support 1,500 users started. Alcatel Lucent is also developing a similar solution Open Touch for Small and Medium Enterprise, so its use is more optimal in that segment.
