Sony Releases Wireless Headphones and Earphones

PT Sony Indonesia launched the WH-1000XM3 wireless headphones with noise cancellation technology and WF-SP900 earphones with truly wireless and waterproof technology. The two latest Sony products are for young Indonesians.

"Based on our research, in addition to the growth of noise cancellation, truly wireless is also growing big, about three times growing. Seeing this growth, we launched these two devices," said President Director of Sony Indonesia, Kazuteru Makiyama, at a media meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday (28 / 11).

The size of Indonesia's young generation who are the target of users of wireless headphones and earphones is also the reason Sony launches the device. "The 15-34 year age group has 32 percent, this group likes high-quality music," said Makiyama.

The WH-1000XM3 headphones with noise cancellation technology were first launched in October 2018. This device is the successor of WH-1000XM2 which was launched last year.

Meanwhile, the WF-SP900 earphones come with truly wireless technology aimed at those who like to exercise, especially swimming, because they are equipped with IP65 / 68 water and dust certification.

Different from its predecessor, the WH-1000XM3 headphones are equipped with a QN1 processor consisting of three components, namely digital noise canceling, 32bit audio signal processing and DAC Amplifier.

"It offers high quality sound, the best signal to sound ratio and low distortion for portable devices," said Sony Indonesia Marketing and Video Head of Department, Ali Ichsan, on the same occasion.

In addition, the WH-1000XM3 headphones are equipped with adaptive sound control features with three automatic mode changes. First, the noise canceling mode will be off, while the ambient sound will be on, so users can still hear the announcement.

The next mode is walking and traveling where the ambient sound is running normally and noise canceling will be off while walking, while noise canceling will be really on when traveling. "This is read from the sensors in the device, because it is connected through an application to connect with headphones," Ali said.

The Sony Headphone Connect application is available on the App Store and Play Store. The next feature, is quick attention that allows users to communicate without having to remove headphones.

"Just press the right side, the music will shrink and the voice of the other person will be heard so that you can communicate directly," Ali said.

Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones also feature Google Assistant and Siri that can work to ask for the weather, for example. The device also features a touch panel on the right side to control volume and receive voice calls.

In terms of design, the WH-1000XM3 gets a slimmer increase weighing 225 grams from its predecessor which weighs 275 grams.

WH-1000XM3 is claimed to last up to 30 hours. Headphones that come in two black and platinum silver choices with golden highlights are priced at Rp. 5.999 million.

Sony WF-SP900 is equipped with IP65 and IP68 certification, which means the device is anti-dust and water. "Even sea water is quite safe with a depth of 2 meters, 30 minutes duration," Ali said.

This is an increase from its predecessor WF-SP700 which is only equipped with IPX4 to withstand splashes of water. In addition, the WF-SP900 is also claimed to have a longer battery life than the WF-SP700 which is 12 hours from the previous 9 hours.

WF-SP900 is equipped with 4GB of internal memory which can accommodate up to 920 songs. "It can be used at any time without connecting to the device," Ali said.

The WF-SP900 earphone is offered at a price of Rp. 3,999 million.
